Top 10 Courses (by play) in 2024

These courses saw the most volume of play in 2024 according to logged udisc rounds. I think an always important thing to consider when looking at these numbers is udisc only accounts for a percentage of plays (roughly 25-40%).

The 10th most played course in the state is located in Lancaster, NY (Western Region). Lighthouse at Como Lake saw 6522 plays with 1545 unique users. This course hosts a few different leagues and a couple tournaments throughout the season.

The 9th most played course is located in Saratoga Springs, NY (Capital Region). Saratoga Spa State Park saw a touch more plays than Como Lake with 6540 with 1093 unique users. This state park does charge a $10 fee during the Summer until 4:30 pm.

The 8th most played course is located in Schenectady, NY (Capital Region). Central Park saw 7421 plays with 1231 unique users. This course recently went through a small redesign & added some course upgrades.

The 7th most played course is located in Glens Falls, NY (Capital Region). Crandall Park saw 7539 plays 995 unique users. This relative shorter par 55 course has some nice wooded holes.

The 6th most played course is located in Ballston Lake, NY (Capital Region). Shenantaha Creek saw 8324 plays with 1109 unique users. A bit of a trend has formed with the Capital Region commanding the 9th through 5th slot for most plays. The area has a dedicated community, strong leadership and a nice variety of courses.

The 5th most played course is located in Warwick, NY (Southern Region). Brakewell Steel / Warwick saw 8503 plays with 1470 unique users. The course’s proximity to New Jersey, Connecticut and New York City help with the large number of unique users. There’s also a second course on the property called Wolfe Woods.

The 4th most played course is located in Great River, NY on Long Island (Southern Region). Heckscher Forest Championship saw 8611 plays with 912 unique users. This state park does charge a $10 fee during the Summer. There are only two 18 hole courses currently on Long Island.

The 3rd most played course is located in Orchard Park, NY (Western Region). The Ravine at Chestnut Ridge saw 9650 plays with 1683 uniquer users. The massive county park is mostly a dense Pine forest and also features the Eternal Flame hiking trail.

The 2nd most played course is located in Tonawanda, NY (Western Region). Ellicott Creek Park saw 11741 plays with 1845 unique users. The central location of this park in the Buffalo area, shorter layout and regular league play contribute to the popularity of this county course.

The 1st most played course is located in Penfield, NY (Western Region). Shadows Pines is a relatively new course, established in 2022. It is located on a retired ball golf course turned into town park. There are 3 sets of turf tee pads and the course is well maintained & laid out.
